From the wild and beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Randi Jo Johnson is an artist whose inspiration comes from the surrounding natural elements. The source of her artwork may be from landscapes, trees, botanicals or wildlife.
"I must have been 7 or 8, before we moved up north, I remember sitting in the back yard with a pencil and paper, studying trees - how the branches taper and get smaller as they grow longer, looking at where the sun is and where the shadows are cast on the tree and on the ground - gosh, I've always loved trees and nature"
Randi uses neutral earthy shades that are complimenting and versatile, matching many decorating colors and styles. The color palette she uses is warm and comforting and easy on the eyes. Of course her personal favorite colors are green and brown.
As a full-time lab tech in a rural hospital, wife and mother of 4.. like many us, she is busy. Any free time she can muster up, you can find her on a little adventure of some sort. Either fly-fishing for brookies in the rugged U.P. creeks, swimming around in a wetsuit while boating around Lake Superior, downhill skiing in the snowy months, or going for nature hikes - teaching who ever is with her how to identify all the wild flowers, birds and trees. A lifelong Daddy’s girl who has taken her fathers advice very seriously, “Stay active and interested in everything”.
Take a moment to go through her gallery and see what may speak to the soul. What deep earthy color resonates with you? What subject matter do you feel a connection to?
Randi does her best to keep pricing as affordable as possible. We want all to enjoy the love and comfort nature can bring to your life.
"Please get out and enjoy nature and bring what you can inside for a beautiful reminder of our natural world - a colorful rock, feather, birch bark, flowers, driftwood or put up a nature painting on your wall. It's good for you."
